This is Sarah's 6th year coaching for Western Buckeye and her 4th as the Club Director. She is very excited to part of such a wonderful program and loves seeing all the girls grow as players. She was the Springboro Freshman Volleyball coach for the 2012-2013 season where she took her girls to an undefeated season and to win the GWOC tournament. Sarah started playing volleyball in 7th grade and has loved it ever since. She was a 3 year Varsity Letterman at East Clinton High School. Prior to coaching with Western Buckeye she had previously coached for Matchpoint Volleyball Club. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, husband Bill and 2 step-children Billbill and Kiarra. Sarah is glad to have Bill helping her again this year with the Western Buckeye club as Co-Director and Coach.
This is Pam's 3rd year coaching for Western Buckeye but she has an extensive coaching career that spans over three decades. She has coached both boys and girls from the grade school to the high school level. She has coached at Saint Columbian in Cincinnati, Chaminade Julienne in Dayton, Bishop Chatard in Indianapolis and CYO programs at Saint Chris in Vandalia, Holy Angels in Dayton and Saint Pius X in Indy. She has started a boy's CYO program in Indianapolis and coached several teams to City championships. Pam is also an OHSAA Level 1 Official for volleyball and enjoys that aspect of volleyball as well as it helps her with her coaching. Pam is a mother of three wonderful boys, Brad, Zach and Alex who all love the sport and a supportive husband Ted who enjoys the sport as much as the rest. Pam is looking forward to teaching great fundamental volleyball skills to the Western Buckeye players she coaches.
This is Allison's 2nd year coaching staff Western Buckeye this year. She recently became an OHSAA official for volleyball and spends many of her evening being a Ref for high school volleyball teams around the Tri-State area. She started her volleyball career at St. Anthony in the CYO league at the age of 12 and then joined Dayton Juniors club teams where she played from 13 to 18 years of age. She was an active team member for Carroll High School. She still plays volleyball on a sand rec team and is the team Caption. Allison loves the sport and looks forward to helping the girls grow and develop into phenomenal players.
We are very excited to have Roy join the coaching staff this year. He comes to us with years of playing experience as well as coaching. Roy grew up in Southern California and played beach volleyball for nearly 30 years there, in Hawaii, and Colorado. After assisting volleyball great Pat Powers’ in his annual volleyball skills clinics/camps, he caught the coaching bug. Roy has coached volleyball the past 8 years including rec and club teams in Colorado as well as the Coffman YMCA. For the past 3 years, Roy has coached 7th grade volleyball at Miamisburg and Springboro, his teams compiling a 51-8 overall record with 3 playoff appearances, 2 GWOC finals appearances, and one GWOC championship. Roy is a publisher of medical magazines by trade and loves to spend time with his wife, Anne, and two daughters, Carrie and Kate (who is also now a WB family member). We are so excited to have Roy join our family this season.
We are excited to have Kristie join our coaching staff. This will be her 1st year with Western Buckeye. Kristie is a sophomore at Wright State University, majoring in biology on the premed track with minors in forensics & criminal justice. She has played volleyball for 11 years and continues to play in intramurals at Wright State & at leagues in the area. At West Carrollton HS, she played JV as a freshman and was a starter for Varsity for the rest of her high school career, graduating in 2015. Some of the awards Kristie received included GWOC Special Mention, All-District Coaches' Honorable Mention, Scholar Athlete, MVP, and the OHSAA Female Athlete Sportsmanship Award. Right after she graduated, she came back to coach West Carrollton's 8th grade team where they took 2nd in the GWOC tournament. Kristie loves the game & is so excited to coach this season. Western Buckeye is beyond excited to have Kristie has part of our coaching staff
Western Buckeye is excited to have Zach join our coaching staff this year. Zach just graduated from Bluffton University with a business degree, where he also played NCAA D3 college football. He is currently back in school learning Software Development and Software Engineering. Zach has been playing volleyball since the 4th grade. He played throughout high school and played on 2 different clubs. 1 was a national level that went to back to back national tournaments where we placed 4th in 2009 and then 17th in 2010. He then played on Air City Boys for a regional team my last 2 years of high school. When playing he was a outside hitter, DS, and Libero. Zach has a very strong knowledge of high level play and how to be an effective hitter from all spots. He also, has a great knowledge of coverage and the ways to properly cover hits from all areas. Zach is excited to follow in his mothers footsteps and coach for many more years to come. Zach loves the game of volleyball and Western Buckeye is delighted to have him as part of our team.
Jeremiah will be returning for his 2nd year as an assistant coach for Western Buckeye Volleyball club. Jeremiah played his senior of High School and that's where he fell for the game. He then went on to play one year of intermural volleyball in college. Jeremiah has played for the past 5 years on a coed league. Western Buckeye is excited to have Jeremiah back this year.
Debbie is new to the Western Buckeye family this year but is not new to the game of volleyball. She has played for over 30 years. Starting her career with lettering 3 years on Varsity in high school and being named first team all-conference and first team all-district. As Debbie moved on to college, she was active in intramurals and was a founding member of the first women’s volleyball club team at Bowling Green State University. She continued to play volleyball post college with her husband, Kyle, in many of the Dayton area co-ed sand and indoor leagues. In addition to her playing experience, she has 5 years’ experience coaching youth volleyball teams in the Dayton area. Debbie is eager to start the volleyball season and looks forward to assisting Kristie with her team. We are excited about having Debbie part of our Western Buckeye Family for the 2016-2017 season.
This is Bill's 3rd year as Co-Director and his forth year involved with Western Buckeye. Bill enjoys playing volleyball and is looking forward to coaching again this year. He likes to spend time collecting comic books, doing outdoor adventures and spending time with his family, wife Sarah, daughter Kiarra, and son Bill III. He is looking forward to another exciting and successful year.
Cassidy is currently attending The University of Dayton majoring in English and am hoping to go into publishing and one day be published author. She played as a setter for five years at Springboro, and is where she played for Coach Miller. Cassidy was part of the 2012-2013 Undefeated Freshman team at Springboro who also won GWOC tournament that year. While playing in high school she volunteered to coach elementary kids through the Panther Youth Volleyball Program and had a blast teaching 3rd and 4th graders the fundamentals of volleyball for two years. In addition to school volleyball, she also played for a couple different clubs,. She played 1 year at Borderline and 2 years for Western Buckeye. Cassidy is excited to help out this coming season and share my knowledge of not only how to be a great player but also a great teammate. We are excited to have Cassidy join our coaching staff this year.
We are very excited to have Leo as part of the coaching staff this year. He comes to us with years of playing experience as well as coaching. Leo was fortunate to spend a great deal of time playing volleyball in Hawaii and California for many years. He played two-man beach volleyball from the mid 90s until 2005. While serving in the United States Air Force Leo played on many of our base volleyball teams and also any adult leagues running in the area. While in the service he would spend anywhere from four to ten hours a day playing the sport he loves, volleyball. Leo is currently the middle school volleyball coach for Wayne Middle School in Huber Heights. He has also coached at Bethel Middle School. Leo is actively involved with YMCA where he works as the Maintenance Director. Leo loves that he has been able to give back by coaching volleyball to the youth ages six to sixteen the past 6 year. We excited to have Leo with us for the 2016-2017 season
